Kokoa Kamili, the cooperative in Tanzania, saw that vanilla farmers in their region were facing the same problems as cacao farmers had in that their only access to market was to sell green beans as low costs to middlemen. They decided to work with the farmers to get them direct access and better wages.
We were so thrilled to try some of these amazing beans! And, of course, we figured the best way to share them was in a chocolate. The vanilla pods were ground with Kokoa Kamili’s cocoa butter and rice, making a chocolate reminiscent of a rich whipped chantilly cream.
